Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Also still one of the most collectable and collected players in the hobby, offered here is this collection of signed and unsigned Howe memorabilia. Paced by a framed display that includes a replica of the scoresheet when Howe scored the 600th goal of his career, included beside it is an 8" x 10" image of Howe taken following the game that has been signed by him with a deep blue marker ink signature that displays without issue and includes his famed "Mr. Hockey" annotation in matching ink. Framed to full dimensions of roughly 20 1/4" x 15", the thin black metal frame shows light wear to the edges and corners that is worth noting for accuracy. Next, also included with the lot is a Gordie Howe Louisville Slugger baseball bat that has been signed by the hockey legend. A natural wood colour example made by the famed bat company that measures 34" in length, the stick has had "Genuine - Mr. Hockey - Gordie Howe - Louisville Slugger" branded into the barrel. Remaining in overall excellent condition with some light scuffs and handling marks seen throughout, Howe has signed the piece with a blue marker ink signature that displays without issue, which also includes an inscription to the original owner. For the rest of the lot, consisting of a WHA Houston Aeros pennant signed by Howe with a black marker ink signature that displays well despite some light fading from age, an award presented by Howe and his wife, Colleen, to their friends Felix and Rita Gatt, a copy of the Nike poster titled "Mr. Hockey & The Great One" which measures 24" x 36" and shows edge, corner and surface wear, a poster signed by Howe to our consignor that pictures Howe and his wife Colleen which measures roughly 38" x 21 1/4" and shows wear to the surface, corners and edges while retaining an excellent condition black marker ink signature, an unframed piece by Doug West titled "Gordie Howe - A Legend for the Ages" that was done for the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame which measures roughly 23" x 30" and has been signed by Howe in the middle with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue while the piece itself displays with some edge, corner and surface wear and finally, a copy of the limited edition lithograph by William Moss titled "Olympia Stadium - Detroit, Michigan" that is serial numbered "60/1500" in pencil at the bottom left hand corner, signed by Moss in pencil over the bottom right and as well is signed by Howe along the bottom with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue. The lithograph itself is also in good condition while showing similar wear as all the other included art pieces.
