Founder, coach and General Manager of the Whitby Dunlops, Wren Blair led the club to the Allan Cup in 1957 and 1959, with the team also representing Canada in 1958 at the World Ice Hockey Championships, winning the tournament. Blair then served as the General Manager of the Clinton Comets from 1958-1971, followed by helping build the new Oshawa Generals, a junior ice hockey team in the OHL. This including signing a 14-year-old Bobby Orr in 1962 to the Bruins-sponsored Generals. Blair was also the first General Manager and coach of the Minnesota North Stars, and he won two Turner Cups with the Saginaw Gears of the IHL before having part-ownership of the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he was also General Manager from July 1975 to December 1976. This collection of pins and patches originate from his personal collection. Included, there is a Penguins colour pin, two Turner Cup Champions pins, a 1965-66 Oshawa Generals patch, three matching Minnesota North Stars patches and one different Stars patch, 1958-59, 1963-64, 1968-69 and 1969-70 Clinton Comet patches, and three matching Kingston Frontenacs patches. The group all remain in like-new condition with no issues.
