Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Immortalized as the greatest international hockey series ever played, the iconic Summit Series in 1972 featured Eastern and Western powerhouses battling for world supremacy. We offer a small collection of impressive Summit Series items. Included, we have a Russian-made Team Canada jersey made to simulate wool signed by Yvan Cournoyer on the reverse "2" in silver, with a hologram placed beneath. There is a 1970 Swedish Masterserien card of Valeri Kharlamov graded 6 EX-MT by PSA, a larger 4 1/2" x 7" card of Kharlamov in Cyrillic, two 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" wire photos including one of Kharlamov and one that appears to show Team Canada celebrating after Henderson's goal in Game 8 (both have Russian stamps on the reverse). The final item is a commemorative modern watch that mentions "1972 Team Canada Summit Series" on the dial along with "Henderson Esposito" and "Kharlamov Tretiak" in Cyrillic. The dial remains clean and scratch free, with the band torn at one side. These rarely seen items are ideal for the Team Canada or international hockey collector.
