The second to last hockey release done by Canadian company Parkhurst, their 1962-63 assembly is up on the block here, found here in near-complete set form for its effort and featuring fifty-four (54) of the fifty-six (56) cards that make up a complete checklist. Featuring the combatants of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens, the set is missing only the checklist card and the Zip card and is found mostly to be in the overall condition range of VG-EX to EX for its effort, with some cards both better and worse off in small quantities. Including key cards of 4-Mahovlich (EX to EX-MT - slight corner wear), 7-Horton (G to VG - marks on back, possibly from an eraser), 14-Shack (EX - slight corner wear plus a pressure mark over the bottom left), 15-Keon (VG-EX to EX - scratch over the bottom border on the reverse), 18-Mahovlich (VG to VG-EX - corners dinged on the left side), 30-Howe (VG to VG-EX - corner wear and light print marks), 31-Howe (PR - creased, corner wear/damage and back damage), 38-H. Richard (EX - slight corner wear), 39-Beliveau (VG to VG-EX - tiny dings to all four corners), 48-Geoffrion (EX - slight wear to the top corners), 49-Plante (VG to VG-EX - ding to the top left corner) and 53-Geoffrion (EX to EX-MT - slight corner wear). For the rest of the set, the condition breakdown includes; five (5) cards around EX to EX-MT, twenty-nine (29) cards in the scope of VG-EX to EX, five (5) cards in the neighborhood of VG to VG-EX and lastly, a pair (2) of cards in the vicinity of G to VG.
Also accompanied by a group of 166 extra cards from the same 1962-63 release, the group does not include any of the set's better or more expensive cards but does include examples of 21-Ullman, 46-Gilles Tremblay RC and 54-J.C. Tremblay RC. In an overall average condition range of VG to VG-EX throughout the assembly of extras, almost all display with corner wear that is worth noting for accuracy while only about five (5) to six (6) cards present in an overall very poor condition. For the extras, includes are card #'s; 3 (x2), 6 (x3), 8 (x6), 9 (x1), 10 (x4), 11 (x3), 12 (x6), 17 (x2), 19 (x7), 20 (x13), 21 (x1), 22 (x4), 23 (x2), 24 (x5), 26 (x9), 27 (x4), 28 (x5), 29 (x2), 33 (x2), 35 (x2), 36 (x1), 37 (x9), 40 (x2), 41 (x2), 43 (x5), 44 (x7), 45 (x1), 46 (x1), 52 (x4) and 54 (x1).
