Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
A product of the Windsor Compuware Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League who won an OHL championship in 1988, Glen Featherstone would be drafted 73rd overall by the St. Louis Blues at the 1986 NHL Entry Draft and go on to play a total of 384 games in the National Hockey League, suiting up over that time for the Blues as well as Boston, New York, Hartford and Calgary. Offered here, we present this St. Louis Blues jersey worn by Featherstone during the 1988-89 season in which he played the first eighteen (18) games of his NHL career. Made by CCM, a partially washed out Maska Air-Knit label is affixed to the inner collar while the CCM logo is embroidered into the reverse hem alongside a screened on "Custom Crafted" wordmark logo. Measuring out to roughly a size "54", the front of the jersey is decorated with a Blues team crest in layered tackle twill along with a vinyl layer present while "St. Louis" is embroidered into the top of it in white thread. Sporting the memorial patches for both Barcley Plager and Dan Kelly that have been placed atop the left and right shoulders respectively, the sleeves and verso have been accented with Featherstone's number "36" in stacked tri-layer vinyl and tackle twill numerals done the same way as the crest on the front. Having had "Featherstone" spelt out in screened white letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse, which shows some popped seams around the edge, it is also worth noting that the screened letters show a good amount of damage and flaking. Exhibiting good game-wear throughout, small unrepaired cuts are present over the front and left sleeve while stick marks are present over the front and both sleeves. Also showing a couple of light board burns and a red coloured board paint transfer over the right sleeve, there is spot staining throughout the piece as well as light pilling on the interior. An LOA will accompany the piece.
