A product of the Red Deer Rebels who was drafted 21st overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Colby Armstrong would go on to play a total of 476 games in the National Hockey League over the course of his career, wearing the uniforms of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Atlanta Thrashers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens over that time. Also playing a year in Sweden before hanging up the skates, offered here is this Thrashers jersey worn by Armstrong during the 2007-08 season after the trade that sent him from Pittsburgh to Atlanta. Made by Reebok, a lone size "56" label is affixed to the inner collar while the logo crests of both the NHL and Reebok have been added over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Thrashers team crest that features embroidered details, an alternate logo crest is seen atop the right shoulder while "Atlanta" is spelt out in individually sewn on letters that are running down the left sleeve. Also having had the 2008 NHL All-Star Game patch sewn on over the right breast, the right sleeve and verso has been styled with Armstrong's number "19" in dual layer tackle twill numerals while "Armstrong" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Signed by Armstrong through the "1" on the reverse with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue, the jersey shows game-wear via board burns over both sleeves and left shoulder as well as stick marks over both sleeves as well. Also showing a couple of small unrepaired holes over the right sleeve, there is a faint mark above the Thrashers logo on the front, and some staining appears in the top area of the "9" on the back, potentially glue residue from the affixed jersey numbers. Having had a MeiGray label numbered "E08955" sewn inside the reverse hem, according to the company's Population Report, the jersey is a "Blue Set 2" example. A matching MeiGray LOA will accompany the piece.
