Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
Utterly shocking the hockey world, the announcement that Wayne Gretzky was traded from the Edmonton Oilers to the Los Angeles Kings in 1988 thrilled the state of California while stunning our entire nation. The Great One would spend eight seasons in Tinseltown, helping to popularize hockey in the US. This solid black framed Kings jersey signed by The Great One is the same style worn by Gretzky when he scored his 802nd goal on March 31, 1994. Featuring Wayne’s iconic “99” with the jersey mounted with the reverse showing, “Gretzky” is sewn to the upper reverse in single black twill, with the legend signing over the first “9” in bright silver marker, with the signature flawless. A hologram from WGA has been affixed beneath, with the jersey framed to full dimensions of approx 36" x 36”. A WGA COA will accompany.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occur during shipping.
