Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
A mixed group of hockey equipment is offered in this lot including a 1960s Daignault-Rolland (D&R) hockey helmet, 1960s WinnWell youth model gloves, 1980s Boston Bruins youth model shin pads, 1930s single shin pad, vintage 1940s/50s bar style catcher's mask and 1920s/30s single English Lillywhite Frowd cricket pad. The plastic helmet has the D&R logo over the forehead, with the original padding and strapping intact. Great use is shown with some minor soiling to the interior and rusting to the metal hardware. The WinnWell gloves are solid black and made for a youth with good use shown but no rips or tears. The vintage shin pad is felt with heavy wear shown, while the Bruins shin pads were made for a youth and have a Boston logo and are in team colours of black and gold. The catcher's mask shows heavy wear with tears to the padding and the interior exposed (these masks were sometimes use by goaltenders in hockey), and the single cricket pad is white in colour with wear shown including rusting to some hardware with one of the straps torn (these were also used by hockey goaltenders in the earlier days of the sport).
