Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
First meeting on February 21st in the preliminary round of the 2010 Winter Olympic hockey tournament, and foreshadowing everything that would happen in the gold medal match except the final score, Canada and the US competed epically, with our neighbours to the south slipping away with the victory 5-3. Eric Staal would score first for Canada in the premier period at 8:53, with Brian Rafalski tying the match just 12 second later. This lot contains a game puck from the match, used in the first period. The Canadian made Sher-Wood puck features the Olympic rings on front, with the official Vancouver Games logo on the reverse. Just light use is exhibited, with a few stray marks and scratches present. A hologram has been affixed to the reverse, with a COA from the Vancouver Olympic Committee and Gameday to accompany this historic keepsake.
