Beginning as a U17 in 2002, Alexander Ovechkin has represented Russia on the world stage continuously throughout his soon-to-be HOF career, winning gold on numerous occasions including at the 2012 and 2014 IIHF World Championships. The successor to the Canada Cup, Ovechkin saw action with the Russians at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey tournament, scoring a goal in his two games, and we offer a Team Russia jersey worn at the tournament. Nike and IIHF labeling is affixed to the collar with “58” sizing, with an IIHF patch over the reverse hem. Styled with a partially embroidered Russian Federation team crest, “8” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Ovechkin” heat-pressed to the affixed nameplate. Remaining in overall excellent condition with no major flaws observed throughout its entirety, it is worth noting that there are couple of small fabric snags present over the sleeves and body. Sporting a Nike bar code is screened to the inside hem, an NHL/NHLPA LOA will accompany the piece. Issued to one of the game’s all-time greatest goal scorers while at the genesis of his career, this international prize will receive spirited bidding.
