Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
Playing numerous seasons in his native Sweden with Malmö IF and MIF Redhawks before his NHL career, Andreas Lilja debuted for the Los Angeles Kings in 2000-01, and we offer a photo-matched Florida Panthers jersey worn by the Helsingborg native in 2003-04, his first of two seasons with the club. A size "56" tag is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the bottom hem and back neckline respectively. Styled with an attractive and multi-coloured Panthers’ team crest in tackle twill, the V-neck sweater has been accented with "6" to the sleeves and verso, with alternate crests over each shoulder. Showing nice game-use with a repair to the front collar as the jersey was most likely torn from a fight (Lilja had fights on Oct 20, 2003 vs Rangers and on Jan 11, 2004 vs Ed Jovanovski of Vancouver), there is also puck and stick marks over the front and sleeves, with a pair of small holes near the right cuff. Getty Image #1961346179 (Dec 23, 2003) has been matched to the team repair at the front of the collar, with the dark marks to the left of the team crest also visible. Additionally, Getty Image #53120013 (2003-04) has been matched to the team repair at the front of the collar, with the marks to the right of the "6" on the left sleeve and the black dot above the "6" both visible. There is a MeiGray tag numbered "B03338" on the inside hem, and according to the population report, the jersey is a "White 1st Regular Season" specimen. An LOA will accompany.
