A fabulous vintage garment roughly dating to the 1920s and an era when the game of hockey was still very much in its infancy, offered here, we present this circa 1920s "PS" game-worn wool construction hockey jersey. Void of any labeling on the interior and measuring out to roughly a size "34" for its effort, the jersey, cream in colour and featuring stripped maroon and cream coloured sleeves, is decorated over the front with a set of sewn on crossed hockey sticks that are maroon in colour and done in a felt construction while the letters "P" and "S" appear over either side in matching style sewn on letters. Styled over the reverse with the number "78", also in matching style sewn on maroon numbers, the jersey shows thinning to the wool in spots throughout, with those areas appearing much whiter/lighter than the rest of the piece, while the sleeves show some discolouration/darkening and small holes in each. Also displaying some minor spot stains/soiling throughout from age, as to be expected from something of this age, the underarms both show a little bit of colour bleeding while the left one displays a small hole from popped seams/stitches. Additionally, also included with the jersey is a pair of hockey pants from the same timeframe. Tan in colour and void of any labeling, the waist measures out to roughly 28" and the original tie-lace is still fed through the eyelets over the front. Stamped with what appears to be "13TH DIV U.S.N.R.", penned notations also appear inside the left hip, including one (1) that is not legible and one (1) that appears to read "Chowder Ross 1932-1933", the pants remain in overall excellent condition considering their use and age, with discolouration seen throughout that is heaviest on the reverse and some small holes over each thigh.
