Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Born in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, and first learning to box while in a reformatory in upstate New York, Jack LaMotta would compete in over 100 bouts between 1941 and 1954, and would be knocked down only a single time. We offer an oversized photo signed by LaMotta (vs Sugar Ray Robinson), along with a framed photo signed by World Middleweight champions Tony Zale and Rocky Graziano. The LaMotta photo is 16" x 20, with Jake signing in silver, adding "Raging Bull" and "Ray I Never Went Down". The second photo is 8" x 10" and matted and framed to 16" x 18", and pictures the pair battling, with each signing over their respective image in what appears to be black marker (The Zale signature is a bit lighter than the Graziano). A JSA Auction LOA will accompany.
