A blast from the past hailing from the early portion of the 1940s when the Toronto Maple Leafs became the only team in history to come back from a three (3) to nothing (0) series deficit to claim Lord Stanley's Cup in the 1942 Stanley Cup Finals before facing them again in the first round the following year, offered here is this vintage 1942 photograph that has been signed by seventeen members of the 1942-43 Maple Leafs. Measuring slightly smaller than 8" x 10" and capturing Don Metz and Ernie Dickens of the Maple Leafs alongside team president E.W. Bickle and team vice-president W.A.H. MacBrien in the Toronto locker room, the photo dates from the 1941-42 season based on the inclusion of Dickens, who wasnt there in 1942-43, and the April 1942 calendar page in the background. Sporting a faded Alexandra Studio stamp on the reverse, the photo shows some wear to the edges and corners, including creasing, as well as a small stain over the bottom edge under Bickle's hat. With some addition surface spots present over the reverse, the top portion of the photo has been signed by seventeen (17) members of the 1942-43 Maple Leafs in black fountain pen including; Apps, Selke, Broda, Day, Pratt, Hill, Davidson, Poile, Boothman, Carr, Copp, Hamilton, McDonald, McLean, Schriner, Stewart and Taylor. With all the autographs in good condition and displaying well despite light fading affecting some, the autographs have been PSA/DNA Certified as being "Authentic" while the photo itself is housed in a PSA holder that displays light wear via some minor scratches and scuffs that are worth noting for accuracy.
