A veteran of 888 National Hockey League contests after being drafted 8th overall by the Boston Bruins in 1997, Sergei Samsonov would suit up for five (5) other clubs besides the Bruins during his career including Edmonton, Montreal, Chicago, Carolina and Florida before retiring at the conclusion of the 2010-11 season. Often suiting up for his home country Russia in international play which resulted in a bronze medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics, offered here is this photo-matched Blackhawks jersey donned by Samsonov for a portion of his tenure with the club in 2007-08. A Reebok Edge 1.0 specimen that has had a lone size "56" label affixed to the inner collar, the front and reverse necklines of the jersey have been accented with the NHL shield and Reebok logos respectively. Decorated over the front with Chicago's famed Indigenous head team crest that features beautiful chain-stitched embroidery throughout its entirety, matching crossed tomahawk alternate logo patches, once again with chain-stitched details throughout, have been added over both shoulders. Having had the William W. Wirtz memorial patch sewn over the right breast, Samsonov's number "14" has been added to the sleeves and verso in dual layer black-over-red tackle twill numerals while "Samsonov" is spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Having had a Blackhawks team tagging patch denoting the piece as a "Set 1" offering sewn inside the reverse hem, the jersey exhibits game-wear via light stick marks over the front and both sleeves, the latter of which also show coloured board paint transfers/board burns as well. Regarding the photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #77518991 (October 25th, 2007 vs Boston) to the coloured paint transfers and stick marks over the left sleeve.
