The first overall pick of the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft, John Tavares would spend the first nine (9) years of his NHL career with the New York Islanders on Long Island before coming home north of the border to join his hometown team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, for the 2018-19 season of play. Having worn the distinguished captain's "C" for Toronto from 2019 to 2024 and having recently recorded his 1000th career point during the 2023-24 season, only the 98th player in NHL history to reach the mark, offered here is this Maple Leafs jersey issued to Tavares for use during the 2020-21 season. Made by Adidas, a band displaying size "56" and "Made in Canada" designations is affixed to the inner collar while logo crests of both the NHL and Adidas adorn the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Maple Leafs team crest that has had "Toronto Maple Leafs" embroidered into it, the captains "C" is sewn on over the left breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Tavares' number "91" in single layer blue twill numerals, "Tavares" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate over the upper reverse. Displaying a pair of Maple Leafs team tags heat pressed inside the reverse hem that denotes the jersey as being a "2020-2021 Season - Set 3" example, a Catstitch logo appears atop the fight strap as well. Issued but not worn, the jersey remains in fantastic condition overall with no flaws and is accompanied by a matching Maple Leafs LOA.
