A product of the Toronto Marlboros that was drafted by both the NHL's New York Rangers (42nd overall) and WHA's Toronto Toros (71st overall) in each league's respective 1976 Entry Drafts, Mike McEwen would go the route of the National Hockey League, playing a total of 716 games with the likes of New York (Rangers), Colorado, New York (Islanders), Los Angeles, Washington, Detroit and Hartford. A Memorial Cup champion in 1975 and a three-time Stanley Cup champion who also played in the 1986 NHL All-Star Game, offered here is this Rockies jersey worn by McEwen circa 1980 during either the 1979-80 or 1980-81 seasons. A mesh construction with knit inserts garment made by Rawlings, a brand label displaying a worn away size designation is affixed to the inner collar, with the jersey itself measuring out to roughly a size "48" for its effort. Decorated over the front with a rubberized Rockies team crest, matching rubberized alternate logo crests are present over both shoulders as well. Accented over the sleeves and verso with McEwen's number "4" in heavy rubberized white-over-red numerals. A nameplate with "McEwen" spelt out across it in heat-pressed white vinyl letters is affixed across the top of the reverse. Displaying a penny and skate lace style fight strap on the interior as well as minor pilling/fraying around the seams, the jersey exhibits good game-wear throughout its entirety including stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, coloured board paint transfers, team repairs and small unrepaired holes over both sleeves and additional unrepaired holes over the lower front.
