The 70th playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of the American League (AL) and National League (NL), the 1999 MLB All-Star Game was held at Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, on July 13th, 1999 and saw the American League squad win by a final score of 4-1 on the backs of a masterful performance by AL starting pitcher, Pedro Martinez, who struck out the first four batters he faced. Offered here, we present this banner from the festivities of the 1999 MLB All-Star Game that hails directly from its fabled host venue, Fenway Park. Measuring out to a massive size of roughly 40 feet long and 3 3/4 feet tall, the banner is made of a heavyweight vinyl material and is largely blue in colour while displaying images of a traditional red, white and blue with white stars bunting at either end. Also sporting the title "All-Star Week '99" in the middle of its ginormous space, the piece shows heavy evidence of use throughout its entirety throughout things such as dirt, scuffs and scratches as well as evidence of being exposed to the elements of a Beantown Summer and some general damage from age which is worth noting for accuracy. Additionally, there is some cracking observed to the graphics and areas of the banner's reverse side have been reinforced with duct tape.
