Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024

Synonymous with greatness, those fortunate enough to have seen Bobby Orr in action during his all-too-brief Hall of Fame career will understand and appreciate the way the Parry Sound wunderkind completely revolutionized the game, becoming the game’s first blueliner to focus on offence as much as defence. The winner of eight (8) straight Norris Trophy’s, Orr would also add the Calder Memorial, Conn Smythe (x2), Hart Memorial (x3) and Art Ross (x2) Trophies to his awards showcase during his career along with two (2) Stanley Cup’s and become one of the biggest and most marketable stars the National Hockey League had ever seen up to that point. Still one of the most collected players in the game today, offered here, we present this Bobby Orr pro-style Bruins jersey that dates from the mid-1970s. Made by Wilson and sporting a size "46" brand label that is affixed to the inner collar, the front of the lightweight durene knit garment is decorated with a Bruins team crest that features embroidered details throughout. Void of a fight strap on the interior, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Orr's familiar number "4" in dual layer yellow-over-white tackle twill numerals. Differing slightly from Boston's actual game jerseys of the era, mostly through the style/construction of the crest and weight of the piece, the jersey remains in overall excellent condition with just a lone stain present over the right shoulder and another small one in the front crest.
