A product of the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves that was drafted by both the NHL's Colorado Rockies (47th overall) and WHA's New England Whalers (19th overall) in each league's respective 1976 Entry Drafts, Randy Pierce would go the route of the National Hockey League, playing a total of 277 games in the league over the course of his career with the likes of the Rockies, Devils and Whalers. Offered here, we present this Hartford Whalers jersey that was first worn by Pierce during the 1984-85 season which was then recycled by the club for use by Rob White during pre-season/training camp play in the late-1980s (White is listed in Hartford's training camp roster for both 1988-89 and 1989-90 but no jersey numbers are listed - additionally, we are unsure if he was at Hartford's training camp before the 1990-91 season but research shows he was NOT at training camp before the 1991-92 campaign). A heavyweight mesh construction offering made by CCM, a CCM label displaying faded "38" and size "50" designations in blue marker or ballpoint pen ink is found affixed to the inner collar over top of the born-on label label reading "84 10". Having had the CCM logo embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the jersey is decorated with a Whalers team crest in layered tackle twill style while matching "Pucky the Whale" alternate logo patches have been applied over both shoulders. Displaying the remains of a cut out fight strap on the interior, the sleeves and verso have been styled with the number "38" in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill numerals while "White" is spelt out in matching style letters that have been sewn directly to the material over the upper reverse. Of note, there is evidence of the former letters spelling out "Pierce" was once affixed observed under the letters of "White" on the interior. Displaying with just light game-wear overall, a couple of light stick marks and a red coloured paint transfer appear over the right forearm on both the interior and exterior while a board burn is found in the blue stripe over the lower front also. Additionally, light pilling/fraying is present on the interior and there are light brown-ish coloured spot stains observed throughout also.
