Playing a total of 592 games in the National Hockey League over the course of his career with the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, St. Louis Blues and Chicago Black Hawks, Eddie Johnston would win two (2) Stanley Cup championships during his playing career as a member of the Bruins and was named to Team Canada at the famed 1972 Summit Series against the Soviet Union. Winning three (3) more Cups during his management career with the Pittsburgh Penguins, offered here is this St. Louis Blues jersey worn by Johnston during the 1974-75 season. A durene knit garment made by Rawlings, a brand label displaying a size "50" designation is affixed to the inner collar while a loop style fight strap exists on the interior. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Blues team crest that has been administered in a layered tackle twill style which also features chain-stitched embroidered details, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Johnston's number "1" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals. Displaying evidence of a formerly affixed nameplate over the upper reverse, applied for televised NBC "Game of the Week" contests and then removed, the jersey shows game-wear via some puck marks over the front as well as red coloured post paint transfer marks over both sleeves and both hip hems. Also displaying a small unrepaired hole over the lower front and similar small holes (x2) over the lower reverse, the interior of the jersey sports good pilling inside both sleeves. An LOA from Rich Ellis of Spirit of the Game will accompany the piece.
