Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Playing a total of 1269 National Hockey League games over the course of his 19-year National Hockey League career, Brett Hull would pot a total of 741 goals over that time, the fifth (5th) most in the history of the league and win a pair of Stanley Cups as well as numerous other awards and trophies. An elite scorer at all levels of the game who is nicknamed "the Golden Brett" in a reference to his father's nickname of "the Golden Jet", the younger Hull would be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009. Offered here, we present this stick used by Hull as a member of the St. Louis Blues during the lockout shortened 1994-95 NHL season in which Hull potted 29 goals and posted 50 points in 48 games played. A Louisville Graphite model twig void of any clear identifiers, Hull's number "16" is stamped over the stem of the inserted Christian blade. Retaining its original tape job of white cloth wrapped around the handle/knob, black is wrapped around the entirety of the blade as well. Remaining in overall excellent condition and free from any cracks or breaks, the stick shows light game-wear via a few marks/abrasions throughout the blade tape, blade and shaft while Hull has signed over the forehand side of the blade stem with a black marker ink signature that displays well and without issue despite the dark lines of the background and its age.
