Finishing with an overall record of 37-27-12 in the National Hockey League's West Division for the 1969-70 season, the St. Louis Blues would knock off both Minnesota and Pittsburgh in the 1970 Stanley Cup Playoffs before meeting up with the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Finals. Playing in fifty-nine (59) games over the course of the regular season, offered here is this Clarence Campbell trophy that was presented to Ron Anderson, for the Blues status as the regular season champions of the NHL's West Division. At 11” in height, the silver-plated handled cup with removable lid and chased detailing sits atop a hexagon-shaped 3-inch wooden base and is engraved “St. Louis Blues – 1969-70 – Ron Anderson” on the front, with the name of the trophy and its "1968" year of inception on the reverse. No longer appearing with its original silver colour and instead a "golden" coloured patina, it is important to note that the award had come unglued from the base and has been re-glued. Additionally, the lid was once glued as well but has become unglued and is removeable but shows some residue of the former glue around the inside edge. In terms of condition, a previously mentioned gold patina appears fairly even throughout the entirety of the piece while a dent is seen at the bottom edge of the lid. Furthermore, some surface loss appears over the front, handles, lid and bottom edge that is worth noting for accuracy. Also showing a bit of wear/fading to the green felt on the bottom of the piece, the trophy hails directly from Anderson's personal collection.
