A veteran of 738 National Hockey League games after being drafted by the NHL's Buffalo Sabres 14th overall at the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft, Ric Seiling, a product of the OMJHL's Hamilton/St. Catharines Fincups, would also be selected 55th overall by the Winnipeg Jets of the WHA that same year. Choosing to go the route of the NHL and playing all but seventy-four (74) of his National Hockey League games in the uniform of the Sabres, offered here is this Detroit Red Wings jersey worn by Seiling during his lone season with the club in 1986-87, his final year in the NHL. Made by CCM, a partially detached Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the inner collar along with a born-on date tag underneath it that reads "86 01". In between a size "48" and "50" and having had a CCM logo embroidered into the reverse hem, "Eastside" (the Red Wings jersey customizer of the era) is heat screened on over the reverse hem as well in red block letters. Decorated over the front with a Red Wings team crest that features embroidered details throughout, the sleeves and verso of the jersey have been styled with Seiling's number "16" in single layer twill numbers. Having had "Seiling" spelt out in single layer red twill letters that have been affixed directly to the upper reverse in a gentle arch, the jersey, retaining its fight strap on the interior, shows game-wear via stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves as well as team repairs over the front and both sleeves plus board burns, coloured board paint transfers and unrepaired small cuts/holes over both sleeves in additional to pilling on the interior and rusting/salting in the snaps of the fight strap.
