This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
A product of the ECAC's Clarkson University Men's Hockey program who would be drafted 135th overall by the Winnipeg Jets at the 1984 NHL Entry Draft, Luciano Borsato would go on to play a total of 203 games in the National Hockey League, all with the Jets, while also representing Team Canada at the 1995 IIHF World Championships. Offered here, we present this Jets jersey worn by Borsato during the 1991-92 season where he posted a career high thirty-six (36) points in fifty-six (56) games played. Made by CCM, size "52" and Maska Ultrafil labels are affixed to the inner collar below a partially detached "Center Ice Authentic Collection" tag while both the NHL shield and CCM logos have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Jets team crest that displays with embroidered details, the teams "Goals For Kids" patch is in place over the right shoulder. Also sporting the NHL's 75th anniversary crest over the right breast, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Borsato's number "38" in single layer blue twill numerals while "Borsato" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed white twill nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its fight strap on the interior, the jersey shows good game-wear throughout via things like stick marks, unrepaired holes/cuts, board burns, coloured board paint transfers, discolouration at the end of both cuffs and pilling around the collar. Regarding the photo-match, the jersey is matched with undated Getty Image #56716912 that shows matches to various stick marks throughout the front and left sleeve as well as to board burns over the left sleeve as well.
