Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024

Finishing first in the International League with a 92-62 mark, the Montreal Royals were crowned regular-season champs and finished runner-up for the Governors' Cup, losing the final series 4-2 to Syracuse. Royals manager Frank Shaughnessy, who is pictured in the middle row, would go on to become league president. This Dow Beer advertising print features the 1935 Royals. At 13" x 30", the members are all pictured in a traditional team pose photo, with Dow ale and stout bottles pictured on either side. The print retains vivid colors with the paper remaining supple while exhibiting small creases and indentations at each side, but these small imperfections take nothing away from the incredible period aesthetics and display quality. This is the same print usually found as a framed advertising display from the company.
