Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
A prime offering of a player that once scored forty-four (44) goals with the Canadiens in just twenty (20) games in the National Hockey League's inaugural campaign of 1917-18 and who rifled in thirty-nine (39) goals in twenty-four (24) games two (2) years later with the Quebec Athletic Club, Joe Malone is the only player in the history of the NHL to score seven goals in a single game, accomplishing the feat in 1920. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1950, offered here is this copy of Malone's card from the 1923-24 William Paterson V145-1 hockey release. Having been assessed by the graders at SGC, the card has been deemed worthy of a GOOD 2 designation for its effort. Sporting a black and white posed image of Malone over the front, the card shows wear to its edges and corners all the way around as well as toning and staining over both the front and reverse sides. Housed in an SGC holder that remains in overall good condition despite some scratches and scuffs over both sides that are worth mentioning for accuracy, don't miss out on this one for your all-important vintage portfolio.
