A product of the QMJHL's Sherbrooke Faucons who would be drafted 49th overall by the Detroit Red Wings at the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Mathieu Dandenault would go on to play a total of 868 games in the National Hockey League, split between the Red Wings and the Montreal Canadiens. A three-time Stanley Cup champion and gold medalist with Canada at the 2003 IIHF World Hockey Championships, offered here is this "1945-46" style Canadiens jersey that was prepared for Dandenault's use during the club's centennial season of 2008-09 on November 15th, 2008 against the Philadelphia Flyers. Made by Reebok and porting a size “58” flag tag affixed to the inner collar, a handwritten number “1” for set 1 is found within the outline of the Reebok logo that adorns the back neckline. Displaying an NHL shield patch that has been sewn on over the reverse hem, the front of the jersey is decorated with a vintage style Canadiens crest that features embroidered details while the team's 100th anniversary patch has been sewn on over the right shoulder. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Dandenault's number "25" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Dandenault" is spelt out in single layer red twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its fight strap on the interior as well as a Canadiens team tag numbered "A01330" sewn inside the reverse hem and matching the accompanying Canadiens LOA, the jersey remains in overall excellent condition since it was never worn except for some minor spot stains throughout and yellowing of the nameplate from the adhesive used to affix it before sewing. Additionally, a Canadiens hologram has been affixed to the "5" over the reverse with a matching one also having been added to the LOA.
