Pitting the New York Rangers against Atlantic Division rivals the Philadelphia Flyers, the fifth installment of the Winter Classic took place at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park, on Jan 2, 2012, with the Blueshirts slipping past the Bullies in the popular outdoor contest, 3-2. Offered here, we present this New York Rangers jersey worn during the game's second (2nd) period of play by back-up goaltender, Martin Biron. Made by Reebok, both "Goalie Style" and size "58" labels are affixed to the inner collar below a heat pressed in Rangers team inventory barcode. Sporting NHL and Reebok crests over the front and reverse necklines respectively, the front of the jersey is decorated with a vintage style Rangers team crest in a layered felt construction that has had "New York Rangers" chainstitched into it. Accented over the right shoulder with the all-important 2012 NHL Winter Classic event patch, Biron's number "43" has been sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer navy-over-red felt numerals. Having had "Biron" spelt out in navy felt letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse, the jersey retains its original fight strap on the interior as well as a MeiGray tag numbered "I02747". With the jersey listed on MeiGray's Population Report as being a "White - Winter Classic 1/2/12 - Period 2 Set - Team" offering, the garment remains in overall excellent condition with no signs of wear as it was worn only in a back-up capacity. Having had a Steiner hologram numbered "191011" affixed to the tags of the inner collar, the jersey comes accompanied by a matching Steiner LOA and signed 8" x 10" photo of Biron that was taken during the game.
