Drafted 9th overall by the St. Louis Blues in 1988 and going on to enjoy an NHL career that spanned the course of twenty (20) seasons, Rod Brind’Amour would suit up in 1484 games over that time with St. Louis, Philadelphia and Carolina, winning a Stanley Cup with the Hurricanes in 2006. Currently serving as Carolina’s bench boss, up for grabs here is this Blues jersey worn by Brind’Amour during his rookie season of 1989-90, in which he posted 61 points in 79 games played during the regular season, plus another 13 in 12 contests during the playoffs. An air-knit construction offering made by CCM, the brand's logo is found embroidered into the reverse hem alongside an embossed Custom Crafted logo while a Maska label displaying a faded size "50" designation in blue ballpoint pen ink is affixed to the inner collar. Decorated over the front with the Blues familiar crest in layered tackle twill with vinyl details, a matching blue tackle twill patch with “St. Louis” embroidered into it is sewn over the top portion of the music note shaped logo. Having had Brind’Amour’s number “19” sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching layered tackle twill with vinyl details style, “Brind’Amour” is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Sporting the Dan Kelly Memorial Patch atop of the left shoulder, the jersey retains its fight strap on the interior and exhibits excellent game-wear via numerous stick marks, board burns and coloured board paint transfers throughout the body and both sleeves as well as no fewer than fourteen (14) sewn team repairs found throughout the right sleeve, front, reverse and left shoulder areas. Finally, a number of small unrepaired holes are observed throughout the sleeves and body as well while pilling is found over the interior and exterior of the sleeves. Regarding the photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #129096379 (December 28th, 1989 vs New York) to many of the stick marks, board burns and team repairs over the left sleeve and shoulder areas.
