Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
A veteran of 1005 games in the National Hockey League, all spent wearing the famed bleu, blanc et rouge of the Montreal Canadiens, Claude Provost would win a total of nine (9) Stanley Cups during his career with the Habs, the most of any player that is not inducted into the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Also holding the record for the most NHL All-Star Game appearances of all eligible non-HHOF players with eleven (11), offered here is this stick used by Provost during the late-1960s. A Victoriaville Pro model example with "14" and "C. Provost" stamped over the upper shaft, the stick is missing its stripped accent stickers around the shaft but does retain its original tape job of white-over-black around the handle/knob and black around the blade that is missing one (1) ring. Displaying good game-use, numerous dark marks and abrasions are seen throughout the length of the shaft as well as over the heel and blade while spots of red post paint transfers exist on the shaft also. Additionally, there is some light wear to the underside of the blade and a couple of small cracks in the same area that are worth mentioning for accuracy.
