Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Combining to play a total of 1841 games in the National Hockey League over the course of their respective careers, offered here is this lot consisting of a pair of signed sticks, including a game-issued offering of Ray Bourque's from the early-2000s and a game-issued example of Pascal Trepanier's that hails from the 2001-02 season and has been signed by approximately fifteen (15) members of that year's Colorado squad. For the Bourque stick, a Sher-Wood made PMPX 9950 model with "Bourque 77" factory graphics over the upper shaft, no tape has ever been applied to the the handle/knob or the blade, which has been signed by Ray over the forehand side with a black marker ink signature that displays well despite some fading from age. For the stick itself, it remains in good condition with some marks and abrasions throughout from handling and age.
For the Trepanier twig, a Nike Quest offering with "P Trepanier" stamped to the upper portion of the shaft, the stick has once again never had tape applied to it, over either the tapered handle or blade. Remaining in good condition with various marks/abrasions throughout, the stick has been signed over the forehand side of the blade, heel and lower shaft by approximately fifteen (15) members of the 2001-02 Colorado Avalanche, including Patrick Roy, Peter Forsberg, Éric Messier, Martin Škoula, Dan Hinote, Riku Hahl, Bryan Muir, Brian Willsie, Steve Reinprecht, Greg de Vries, Ville Nieminen and others. All having signed in silver marker ink that largely displays without issue, the signatures of Roy and Forsberg have faded a bit, which is worth noting for accuracy.
