From the season in which he recorded a career-high 73 points in 80 games played as a member of the New York Rangers, helping the Blueshirts to an appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, offered here is this "Players' Player Award" presented to Reijo Ruotsalainen for the 1984-85 campaign. An annual award given to the player "who best exemplifies what it means to be a team player" as determined by his teammates. Measuring 13 1/2" x 13 1/2", the silver plated plate has been engraved with "West Side Association of Commerce, Inc - Players' Player Award - 1984-85 - Presented To - Reijo Ruotsalainen - As Voted By Members Of The New York Rangers" on the inside of it and is stamped with "Wallace 5005" on the reverse". Also sporting a Wallace sticker affixed to the reverse as well, the piece remains in good condition with scratches throughout as well as some pitting and tarnishing, heaviest on the brushed metal reverse side. Additionally, also included with the lot is a glass puck paper weight from the 1986 NHL All-Star Game in Hartford that was presented to Ruotsalainen for his participation. Measuring roughly 4" tall and in good condition, a goalie and player scene is depicted on the inside of the memento, which remains in good condition despite some scratching while a "Holsted Inc." sticker is affixed to the bottom. Hailing from his personal collection, an LOA signed by Ruotsalainen will accompany the lot.
