This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Included in the collection is a vintage early-1970s WHA complete puzzle with its original box from Tuco / Munro Games Inc. This cool vintage puzzle is either from the World Hockey Association (WHA) inaugural season in 1972-73 or the following 1973-74 season because of the Los Angeles Sharks who were only in the league those two years. Text on the side of the box mentions that the puzzle is from the Tuco Sports Series and that it is a division of Munro Games Inc. The box states that there are over 150 pieces to the puzzle which measures approximately 7 1/4 x 10 1/2 inches. The box measures about 5 3/4 x 7 3/8 inches and 1 1/2 high. The puzzle is complete with all pieces. There are small defects to the puzzle pieces including a few pieces having wear/damage to the upper layer of the pieces where the paper is lifted and some pieces have a crease/fold mark in them and general surface wear but overall puzzle displays well. The original box shows surface wear, has a few pieces of paper missing and has a couple long creases in the top of the box which overall still displays well.
The second included puzzle is a vintage 1970s Hockey Puck jigsaw puzzle with its original box and the puck is a look alike of the puck that was used in the 1972 Canada-Russia Series. This Team Canada hockey puck puzzle comes in its original box which is dated from 1979 and it states the puzzle has 100 pieces. The image of the puck is similar in style to the actual game pucks used in the 1972 Canada-Russia Series games in Canada which had a red Maple Leaf logo in a white circle but also had "Hockey Canada" in the lower portion of the logo. Puzzle size is approximately 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches while the original box measuring about 4 x 4 inches and 1 1/2 high. The puzzle is complete and look almost like new with fresh and strong colors. The original box exhibits a few fine scuff marks and very minor wear and overall remain in excellent condition with fresh and strong colors as well.
A number of puzzles from the American Publishing Corp from 1972 are also part of the lot including a 1972 Toronto Maple Leafs vs Minnesota North Stars 300 pieces puzzle still mostly sealed in its original can (part of the top was cut-up but it was never fully opened) with some pieces of the paper label missing but overall mainly all present. A pair of empty cans (no puzzles pieces included) for a Tony Esposito puzzle and a Pittsburgh Penguins vs New York Rangers puzzle, also both from 1972, are included with some defects to the paper labels to be noted which overall are mostly complete and display well. The last puzzle from this series is a Frank Mahovlich Montreal Canadiens 500 pieces puzzle. It is unknown if the puzzle is complete and the pieces inside all seem to be in nice condition overall with the 10 x 14 1/4 inches box showing some creases and having its lower left corner split-up with a piece of clear tape over it.
Completing the puzzle portion of the lot are 1992 puzzles (300 pieces) from Canada Games including puzzles of Mario Lemieux (2 - 1 sealed) and Brett Hull (5 - 4 sealed). The puzzles boxes measure approximately 11 3/4 x 16 1/4 inches and remain in nice, clean, condition with the two puzzles not sealed assumed to be complete.
A pair of 1980s All-Star Face-Off hockey board games completes the collection. One game is complete with all its accessories while the other only includes the board game and the box. This game is endorsed by NHL great Doug Harvey. Each of the boxes has a split corner and are showing some wear but overall they display well. The game board and the accessories of the complete game all seem nice and clean. The boxes each measure approximately 12 x 18 3/4 inches.
