Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
Hailing from the decade that saw the NHL expand into the United States with the Boston Bruins, New York Americans, New York Rangers, Chicago Black Hawks, Pittsburgh Pirates and Detroit Cougars, we have a 1920s paper label one-piece hockey stick. Full adult size at 51" from the top of the shaft to the heel of the blade, there are no stamps or markings, with a paper label over the upper shaft that is approx 90% intact, with the label mentioning that the stick is high-grade and made of rock elm (judging from the style of the label and cut of the blade, it is possible the stick was produced by Lovell). There is a bit of wear to the shaft and blade including some marks, but no damage whatsoever and no cracks or chips to the blade.
