Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
A President's Cup (WHL champions) winner with the Brandon Wheat Kings in 1996, Peter Schaefer was drafted by Vancouver in 1995 and played for three different NHL clubs. The Saskatchewan native also represented Canada twice at the IIHF World Championships. This photo-matched Wheat Kings jersey was worn by Schaefer in 1996-97. A Maska label with handwritten "96-97" and 54 size tag is affixed to the collar. Featuring a partially embroidered Wheat Kings team crest, "27" is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill. The jersey shows heavy use with numerous puck and stick marks, board burns and paint transfer. There is also some pilling to the interior sleeves. A Brandon Sun webpage shows a photo of Schaefer wearing this jersey, with the images matched to the burn mark on the upper left sleeve above the number. An LOA from the Wheat Kings will accompany, along with a program with Schaefer pictured on the cover.
