A member of the gold medal winning Team Canada squad at the IIHF U20 World Junior Championships in Geneva, Switzerland in 1997, Peter Schaefer also led the Brandon Wheat Kings to a President's Cup championship and 1996 Memorial Cup appearance while in junior. From his first of four seasons in the nation's capital, we have an Ottawa Senators photo-matched Third jersey worn by Schaefer in 2002-03. A sewn-down label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar, with KOHO and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with the alternate, multi-coloured and textured Senators team crest that witnessed use from 1997 until 2007, “15” appears over the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with matching alternate crests situated over each shoulder. A few dark marks are present over the front band, with additional marks, scrapes and board burns to the sleeves. Getty Image #1788208 (Dec 23, 2002) has been matched to the faint burn mark directly beneath the "5" on the left sleeve (this is in regards to the position of his arm in the photo, otherwise, if his arm was hanging down, the mark would be directly to the right), with the small dark mark near the convergence of the red and gold bands on the left sleeve near the elbow threading. You can also see a hint of the light red transfer to the right of the first black arrow on the left side within the gold striping band. A patch from MeiGray numbered “A04030” resides on the inside hem, with a matching LOA to accompany, and according to their population report, the jersey is a "Third Set 1" specimen.
