A product of the Brandon Wheat Kings, forward Peter Schaefer played 572 NHL games with Vancouver, Ottawa and Boston. His Senators game-worn jersey from the 2003-04 regular season displays the Roger Neilson memorial patch worn on the right breast by Ottawa’s players to honor the late coaching legend. Schaefer recorded 39 points in 81 games in his second season in Canada’s capital city. A size 56 flag tag hangs in the back of the collar of his game-worn jersey, which is from the Senators’ first regular season set as per the MeiGray LOA that accompanies it. MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2003-2004 Season patch with registry No. B06590 is sewn inside the rear tail. According to the MeiGray population report it is Schaefer’s “White 1st Regular Season” jersey. Great game wear here with solid and extensive team repairs and sewing surgery performed on both lower sleeves. We count five on the lower right sleeve and another between the numbers of the same sleeve. The left sleeve has another half dozen elaborate sewing fixes. Marks on the back include one between the numbers, and there are a number of black marks below the team crest on the front, and board burns on both sleeves. There are sweat stains on the shoulder yokes. Two lower resolution digital images of Schaefer wearing the jersey are included though they do not provide a photo-match.
