Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins stepped into the time machine for a home game during the 2015-16 AHL regular season and took their uniforms back to a style last worn in the early-2000s. This No. 17 “Throwback” gamer was worn by Carter Rowney for the baby Pens home game on January 30, 2016, as stated in the team LOA that accompanies it. Featuring a nicely detailed big Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins team crest sewn on the front, this game-worn jersey has a size 52 flag tag hanging below the CCH AHL tagging in the back of the collar and a CCM patch sewn on the back of the neck. CCM and AHL patches are sewn on the right rear tail. The stylized numbers sewn on the back and both sleeves are white, black and red triple twill, and surname letters are white twill sewn onto a nameplate. Game wear on this single-use jersey shows in a black mark on the bottom of the “1” on the right sleeve. A lower resolution digital image of Rowney wearing this jersey is included but does not serve as a photo match.
