The National Hockey League’s fourth annual Winter Classic in 2011 pitted Alex Ovechkin’s Washington Capitals against Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins in front of 68,111 fans who packed Heinz Field in the Steel City as the visiting Capitals defeated the hometown Pens by a score of 3-1 in the first New Years Day contest played under the lights in primetime. From that game, we offer this Penguins jersey worn by Pittsburgh forward Tyler Kennedy during the second (2nd) period of play. Made by Reebok and sporting a lone size "54" label affixed to the inner collar below a "Winter Classic January 1st, 2011" designation, the logo crests of both the NHL and Reebok adorn the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled over the front with a vintage style Penguins team crest in felt with embroidered details, the all-important 2011 NHL Winter Classic event patch resides over the right breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Kennedy's number "48" in dual layer cream-over-baby blue tackle twill numerals, "Kennedy" is spelt out in single layer cream twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Worn for just a single period of play and displaying with no obvious signs of game-wear, both a Penguins team tag and MeiGray label numbered "H06026" are sewn inside the reverse hem, with the company's Population Report listing the jersey as a "Navy Retro Winter Classic Period 2 - Team Set" example. Signed on the inside of the fight strap by Penguins equipment manager Dana Heinze (bleeding through the other side), a matching Penguins COA will accompany
