A product of the Ferris State University Bulldogs in the NCAA who originally went undrafted before signing as a free agent with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Chris Kunitz would go on to a career that would see him play in over 1000 games with the likes of Anaheim, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Chicago over the course of fifteen (15) years in the National Hockey League. A four (4) time Stanley Cup champion and a gold medalist at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games with Team Canada, offered here is this photo-matched Penguins third jersey worn by Kunitz during the 2014-15 season. Made by Reebok and featuring a lone size "56" label affixed to the inner collar, the front and reverse necklines of the jersey have been accented with the crests of both the NHL and Reebok respectively. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Penguins team crest that features embroidered details throughout its entirety, the distinguished alternate captain's "A" has been added over the left breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Kunitz's number "14" in dual-layer tackle twill numerals, "Kunitz" is spelt out in single layer yellow twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Sporting a Penguins team tag that has been sewn inside the reverse hem which denotes the jersey as being a "2014-2015 Set 1 Throwback Jersey" offering, Penguins equipment manager, Dana Heinze, has signed over the underside of the fight strap in thin black marker ink. Displaying excellent game wear including stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, board burns/coloured paint transfer marks exist over the left cuff and a cluster of team repairs are found at the front hem. Also showing pilling on the interior, a JerseyTRAK sensor has been added underneath a piece of white twill on the fight strap. Accompanied by a Penguins COA and JerseyTRAK document that lists the games (12 in total) the jersey was scanned into by equipment staff, the jersey has been photo-matched with Getty Image #468296420 (April 1st, 2015 vs Philadelphia) to the stick mark through the crest and team repairs over the front hem.
