Owen Pickering’s classy Swift Current Broncos “New Year’s Eve” game-worn jersey helped ring in 2023 while honoring the team’s tragic past. “New Year’s Eve SC 2022-2023” reads the circular gold and black patch sewn on the left shoulder. The right shoulder displays the four-leaf clover patch in gold and black that bears the numbers of the four Swift Current players who lost their lives in a horrific bus crash in 1989. A size 56 flag tag hangs in the back of the neck below the CCM CHL tagging and the WHL patch is sewn on the right breast. Featuring sublimated fireworks effects on the sleeves, the jersey has a wonderful gold thread bucking bronco team crest outlined in black thread on black twill sewn on the front. Gold and black double twill “C” is sewn on the left breast below the sublimated CCM logo, and the same material is featured in the numbers sewn on the back and both sleeves. Surname letters are gold twill sewn on a nameplate. Pickering signed the fight strap in black marker and the CHL patch is sewn on the rear tail. Broncos rubberized team patch inside the rear tail displays the date of the December 31, 2022 game against the Medicine Hat Tigers. To note inside the rear tail is a black marker mark that shows through faintly on the rear tail. Game wear includes a few marks below the numbers on the back and a faint mark on the left sleeve of this single-use gamer that comes with a team COA.
