Enjoying an NHL career that totalled out to 909 games played over his 15-years in the National Hockey League, Ron Schock would play 8-years and 619 games in the "Steel City" as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins, serving as the clubs captain between 1973-74 and 1976-77. Offered here, we present this Penguins jersey worn by Schock during both the 1969-70 Stanley Cup playoffs against Oakland Seals and St. Louis Blues and throughout the entirety of the 1970-71 regular season as well. Made by Wilson and numbered by Pittsburgh Sport Shop, Inc., a label from the customizer is affixed to the inner collar with the size "46" designation from the originally applied Wilson having been cutout and reapplied as a fly tag instead. A classic lace-up collar style durene construction offering, the front of the jersey is decorated with a Penguins team crest that displays numerous details throughout while the sleeves and verso have been accented with Schock's number "17" in dual layer navy-over-baby blue tackle twill numerals. With the outline of the nameplate that was once affixed to the upper back above the number still able to be seen even after all these years (1970-71 was the first NHL history that names were affixed on the back of jerseys, only for the light colour or white home garments), a sewn in and now tattered garter style fight strap is present on the interior. Exhibiting heavy evidence of game-wear throughout, numerous team repairs, including material-backed examples, are observed throughout the front, lower front, upper reverse and both sleeves with additional wear being viewed in the form of sick marks, board burns and coloured paint transfers that are seen throughout the body and sleeves while on the interior pilling is observed throughout and puckering is present behind the team crest on the front. Additionally, a small fabric run resulting in a small hole is seen near the left elbow while another small hole is tracked down at the left edge of the "1" on the reverse.
