Playing his junior hockey as a member of the Ontario Hockey League's Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, Ron Francis was drafted 4th overall by the Hartford Whalers at the 1981 NHL Entry Draft and would go on to play a total of 1731 games in the National Hockey League with the likes of the Whalers as well as the Pittsburgh Penguins, Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs. A two-time Stanley Cup champion and Hockey Hall of Fame inductee in 2007, offered here is this photo-matched Penguins jersey worn by Francis during the 1994-95 season. Made by CCM, both brand and size "52" labels have been affixed to the inner collar, with Francis' number "10" and a "94" year designation penned to the brand label in black marker ink. Having had the logos of both CCM and the NHL embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the jersey has been decorated with a Penguins team crest that features embroidered details throughout its entirety. Sporting the distinguished captain's "C" over the left breast, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Francis' number "10" in dual layer black-over-yellow tackle twill numerals while "Francis" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its fight strap on the interior, the jersey shows heavy game-wear throughout its entirety via stick marks throughout the body and sleeves, board burns over both sleeves and coloured board paint transfers over the left sleeve and reverse. Also sporting pilling around the collar and on the interior plus sweat stains and spot stains throughout the piece, the jersey is accompanied by a Penguins COA and MeiGray COR. Regarding the photo-match, the jersey is matched to an included image of Francis taken during the season which shows a match to the large stick mark in the upper portion of the team crest.
