Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
A classic mid-1970s offering from the O-Pee-Chee brand, the company's 1975-76 release included a total of 396-cards that featured a relatively simple design. With the first 330-cards being near clones of the ones produced by Topps earlier in the year, but easily discernible by the language used on the backs as well as their stock, notable rookies include Pierre Larouche, Clark Gillies and Harold Snepsts, with the Snepsts card being the last card of the set and hard to find in top condition. Offered here, we present this lot consisting of twenty (20) unopened packs from the 1975-76 O-Pee-Chee release as well as an empty display box. Starting with the packs, all display "Hockey" in white letters as well as the imagery of two (2) generic hockey players on a red background. Also showing the original purchase price of .10 cents over the front as well, all the packs have been deemed to be in their original unopened state and not tampered with. Remaining in overall good condition with some minor expected wear from age throughout, including edge/corner wear, a couple of small tears and colour fading, the packs are accompanied by an empty display box that shows edge/corner/surface wear, some fading and some rips/tears while retaining its lid and showcasing good artwork. Also including packs of 1974-75, 1976-77 and 1977-78 O-Pee-Chee WHA that remain in excellent condition as well, the packs have been shown to and reviewed by a third-party that specializes in packs/boxes (Martin Sports Cards) and in their opinion they are original and unopened except for the aforementioned pack deemed possibly opened mentioned in the description. Please take note that all of the packs included in this lot are offered "AS IS" and therefore no returns will be accepted.
