Referred to as the "gold standard by which all other middle linebackers are measured”, Dick Butkus was an eight-time Pro Bowler in his nine NFL seasons, with two Defensive Player of the Year awards earned. Leading his home state University of Illinois to a Rose Bowl victory in 1963, Butkus was a two-time All-American with the Fighting Illini, and spent his entire pro career with Chicago. This Bears helmet has been signed by the 1979 HOF inductee. A full-size Riddell model with face mask and chin strap as well as Bears logos on each side, Butkus has signed along the top section in silver, with a scratch through the signature at the "BU" of "BUTKUS". The helmet itself shows light handling wear. A JSA Auction LOA will accompany.
