Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
The epitome of an all-time American idol, oozing with unrivaled talent, Hollywood good looks and an unwavering penchant for the fairer sex, Mickey Mantle served as the model every boy dreamed of being. His early passing in 1995 at just 63-years-of-age brought sorrow throughout the baseball world. We offer a 1986 Decathlon Sports Prints Series limited-edition framed print #235/536 signed by the legendary slugger. At approx 18" x 24", the Mick is depicted in four images from a 1958 match including in full swing, hitting home run #235, with his large pencil signature placed over the bottom left. There is some text beneath the image, along with "Home Run No. 235", "Date July 28, 1958", "Opponent Kansas City 2nd of 2" and "Park Municipal Stadium". The artist has also signed to the bottom right, with the limited-edition number handwritten. Double-matted in Yankees colours and framed to 23 1/2" x 30 1/2", a JSA Auction LOA will accompany.
