This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Exciting the Maple Leaf Gardens hopefuls with a second place finish at the conclusion of the 1961-62 NHL season, the Toronto Maple Leafs would be led by the scoring prowess of Frank Mahovlich, with Johnny Bower securing an impressive 31 wins. Advancing to the Stanley Cup finals vs Bobby Hull and the Chicago Black Hawks, the Leafs would take the series in 6 games, with this the first of three consecutive championships for the squad. We offer a stick team-signed by the 1962 Stanley Cup champion Leafs. A Hespeler Green Flash model in like-new condition, one side of the blade is painted with "Toronto Maple Leafs '61-'62", with 19 signing the matching side shaft in uniform blue ink, including 13 HOFers, with Tim Horton, Dave Keon, Johnny Bower, George Armstrong, Bert Olmstead, Frank Mahovlich, Bob Pulford, Punch Imlach, Al Arbour, Red Kelly, Dick Duff, King Clancy and Allan Stanley, along with Larry Hillman, Eddie Shack, Billy Harris, Bob Nevin, Ron Stewart and Bob Haggart. The signatures present especially well, with an even coat of shellac added to the stick. There is also a pair of holes that were drilled into the shaft as the stick was previously mounted.
