Originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals out of high school at the 1965 MLB Draft as well as by the New York Mets at the 1967 MLB Draft out of Southern Illinois University, Rich Hacker would go on to play a total of sixteen (16) games in the Major Leagues for the Montreal Expos in 1971 before embarking on a coaching career with the St. Louis Cardinals and Toronto Blue Jays, Hacker would win World Series championships as a member of the Blue Jays in both 1992 and 1993. Offered here, we present this jersey worn by Hacker while serving as Toronto's third base coach during the 1992 World Series against the Atlanta Braves. Made by Wilson and featuring a heavily faded brand label affixed to the inner collar that shows a size "44" designation is affixed to the inner collar while an embroidered number/year/set swatch reading “50 92 2” is sewn on directly underneath. Styled over the front of the button up style garment with "Toronto" in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill letters that have been individually sewn on in a gentle arch, a Blue Jays team crest is found underneath while Hacker's number "7" has been added over the reverse in a matching style white-over-blue dual layer tackle twill number. Having had "Hacker" spelt out in single layer blue twill letters that have been sewn on in a gentle arch directly to the material of the jersey over the upper reverse, the 1992 World Series patch has been placed over the right sleeve. With knitted blue and white striping accents over the end of both sleeves that show good sun fading, the jersey shows no other game-wear other than some minor fabric rubbing around the bottom from being tucked in, the jersey remains in excellent condition overall. A Blue Jays COA will accompany the piece. Of note, the jersey does not sport the affixed hologram that it is said to have on the accompanying Blue Jays COA, likely placed inside the bottom of the placket when it was first offered by the club or never placed at all, it is highly likely that due to the age of it and the glue drying out that it simply fell off as it was more of a paper sticker than tamper proof seal.
