Signing as an international free agent with the Toronto Blue Jays on February 16th, 1983, Tony Castillo would go on to play a total of ten (10) seasons in the Major Leagues with the likes of Toronto, Atlanta, New York and Chicago, winning a World Series with the Blue Jays in 1993 over the Philadelphia Phillies. Offered here, we present this jersey worn by Castillo during the 1993 World Series. A button up garment made by Wilson, a brand label displaying a size "42" designation is affixed to the inner collar as well as a strip tag in the same material as the jersey itself that displays "49 93 1" for the player/year/set. Styled with "Toronto" arched across the chest in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill letters with a Blue Jays team crest over the left side as well that features embroidered details throughout, all the buttons are still present over the front while the reverse of the jersey has been styled with Castillo's number "49" in numbers that match the ones in "Toronto" over the front while "Castillo" is spelt out in single layer blue twill letters that have been arched across the top of the back and sewn directly to the material. Displaying game-wear via sweating on the inside of the collar and some light fabric rubbing, additional wear is present via sun fading to the knitted accents at the end of both cuffs and some light marks/staining around the left side of the collar. Having had a Blue Jays label/hologram numbered "20147" added inside the placket, a matching Blue Jays COA will accompany the piece.
